1. Amanda Overymyer may be the biggest surprise of all. At 23 years old, she comes from Mulberry, Indiana and her raspy, rocky tunes are slicing through the American as Apple Pie songs that Idol is known for. With a voice that resounds with the likes of Grace Slick and Janis Joplin she rocked the house with Joan Jett’s “ I Hate Myself for Loving You.” America loved it and she made it to the top 12.
