American Idol Reality TV singing competition, on the week of April 29 and 30, featured the five top contestants (David Cook, Syesha Mercado, David Archuleta, Jason Castro, and Brooke White) working with and performing the music of superstar Neil Diamond. Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson judged.
Jason Castro sang “Forever in Blue Jeans” first and “September Morn” second.
David Cook sang “I’m Alive” and “All I Really Need is You.”
Brooke White sang “I’m a Believer” and “I Am I Said.”
David Archuleta sang “Sweet Caroline” first, followed by “America.”
Syesha sang “Hello Again,” and “Thank the Lord for the Nighttime.”
According to the official American Idol website, "Neil Diamond is one of the most successful pop music performers in the history of music with more than 125 million records sold worldwide, 15 Top Ten albums and 37 Top Ten singles. His work has been celebrated over the past four decades with 12 Grammy nominations and four Golden Globes. He has also been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame."
On May 6 Neil Diamond’s new CD "Home Before Dark," will be released by Columbia Records. The CD has been Reviewed by Newsweek as "the best work Diamond has done in 30 years." (quote via American Idol website)
On April 30, Neil Diamond sang "Pretty Amazing Grace." Natasha Bedingfield will sang her new hit "Pocket Full of Sunshine." Both were excellent.
Another great Ford commercial ran, this time starring the Top 5 (David Cook, Syesha Mercado, Jason Castro, Brooke White, and David Archuleta) and was a fun, uplifting, eco-friendly mini-video. It can be found as a video on the official Idol website.
In the end, Brooke White went home in tears, but full of thanks to all, leaving the Top 4: David Cook, Syesha Mercado, Jason Castro, and David Archuleta.
Fans can look forward to seeing all their favorites (the top 10 American Idol contestants from season 7) again as they tour for one year. Information on how to obtain tickets for the tour will be announced on the Idol website. Everyone usually shows up at the finale as well.
As the season begins coming to a close, every vote is going to count. This is no time to think one's favorite contestant is safe. Each and every fan needs to get those calls in. There are sites trying to sabotage the vote by asking people to vote for certain "bad" idols (and these sites will get no publicity here), so voting from true fans of the show is extra important at this crucial time.
If fans are dying for news, videos, free wallpaper for computers, contestant and American Idol items to purchase, etc., all these things may be found at the American Idol website. They also have several links to contests, including a contest to win free tickets to the finale show. A guitar is also being given away.
Check the Dreyers Ice Cream website to enter a free contest to win free tickets to the American Idol Finale or other prizes.
