America's Next Top Model Season 13 Casting Call

ANTM and Tyra Banks are Looking for Girls Shorter than 5’7”

Feb 27, 2009
The CW's hit reality series America's Next Top Model is currently casting for its 13th season, complete with new requirements. This season is all about shorter girls.

The twelfth season of CW’s hit reality series America’s Next Top Model will begin airing on March 4th. However, even as this season is heading to the airwaves, the ANTM team is preparing for Season 13. Open casting calls are taking place across the country. From Miami to San Francisco, the casting directors are looking to discover the next top model. This season, host Tyra Banks will once again try to change the industry by looking for a different kind of model.

New Height Requirements

In previous seasons of America’s Next Top Model, the minimum height requirement has been 5’7” because industry preferences favor tall girls, particularly for the runway. However, Tyra Banks and the ANTM casting team are always looking to break barriers in the industry. Season 13 will be cast from girls who are 5’7” and shorter. The eligibility requirements have opened the competition to girls who never thought they could model. The age requirements are the same, so applicants need to be between the ages of 18 and 27.

Nationwide Open Casting Calls

During the month of March, 2009, cities across the country will host open casting calls. For specific information on times and locations, visit ANTM’s casting page. The currently scheduled casting dates and cities are:

  • Miami (Saturday, February 28th)
  • San Francisco (Tuesday, March 3rd)
  • South Bend, IN (Tuesday, March 3rd)
  • Pittsburgh, PA (Friday, March 6th)

  • Davenport, IA (Saturday, March 7th)
  • Providence, RI (Saturday, March 7th)
  • Norfolk, VA (Saturday, March 7th)
  • Jacksonville, FL (Saturday, March 7th)
  • St. Louis, MO (Saturday, March 7th)

  • Honolulu, HI (Wednesday, March 11th)
  • Harrisburg, PA (Thursday, March 12th)
  • New York (Saturday, March 14th)
  • Dallas (Saturday, March 21st)
  • Chicago (Wednesday, March 25th)
  • Los Angeles (Saturday, March 28th)

Send in a Video Application

The CW’s website offers information for people who want to send in an application and videotape. Pay careful attention to the eligibility requirements, because these specify what the casting directors are looking for as well as what contestants will have to deal with if they do appear on the show.

Reality shows such as America’s Next Top Model offer contestants more than just a chance to win money. Many former contestants, no matter how they did on the show, are now working models. It is a difficult industry to break into and contestants receive training from some of the top names. Stay tuned to see who makes it to the top of Cycle 12.

How come the Auditions for America's next top model are always held in far away countries, or states?
Mar 3, 2009 10:12 AM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
If you can't make it to one of ANTM's open calls, you can still apply. Just mail your video and application package to the show. If you want to be a top model, don't let the distance stop you.

If I do not have a passport right now but plan on getting one as soon as possible, can I still apply?

Does this mean that girls taller than 5'7" aren't allowed to apply for this cycle?

Guest :
if i wanted to auditions on march 21st when is the dealline to send in a video application?
Mar 4, 2009 2:21 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
Lots of questions to answer! As for the height requirements, the eligibility requirements do state that the producers can make exceptions to the maximum height of 5'7". I am not sure what criteria they would use to grant an exception.

Passports can take a significant amount of time to arrive. The show will be filmed between April and June 2009, so you will need to have it by then. According to the State Department website, regular passports are being processed in about four weeks. If you choose expedited service (which is more expensive), you can expect it in 2 to 3 weeks. Apply TODAY if this is something you want to do!

If you are going to an open casting call, you do not need to send in a video. You must, however, bring the completed paper application form with you to the audition.

Your giving us the dates and the states and cities what about the times what about the locations in the city of the castings?
Mar 4, 2009 8:59 PM

How about if you are not yet U.S citizen?
Mar 4, 2009 10:18 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
As the article states, please visit the ANTM casting website for the specific locations and times of the casting. There is already a link there for your convenience.

According to the eligibility requirements, contestants must be US citizens. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. The link to the eligibility requirements is in the article, so please read it if you are not sure you qualify!

Also, please note that I am NOT affiliated with ANTM. I cannot pass on comments to Tyra and must delete anything with contact information. I am simply a reality TV writer trying to disperse information and links to the casting page and eligibility requirements.

What if you are a dual citizen of both The United States of America and of Canada but you hold a Canadian passport, is that still valid?
Mar 5, 2009 3:23 PM
Patricia Hawkenson :
A variety of sources all say to go to the ANTM casting website to find out locations for open casting calls. However, the listing for CHICAGO does NOT tell WHERE in Chicago to go! Chicago is TOO big of a city to just drop in and hope to find them. Please help those of us who want to get to the Chicago casting know WHERE in Chicago to go! Specific TIME and Location, please. ASAP as we need time to schedule hotels, etc. Thanks!

I'm 5'2..always wanted to be a model but i won't turn 18 until next year..!Will cycle 13 be the only cycle that will hold these height requirements?
Mar 5, 2009 8:23 PM
Guest :
Please stop in Cleveland,Oh..please I am begging you!!I am 5'3 and I wanted to model all my life.I you all dont stop in Cleveland how else can I apply???
Mar 5, 2009 8:23 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
Dual citizenship is fine, as long as you have a valid passport!

As for the Chicago audition, many of you have been asking for the exact location. Unfortunately, as I mentioned previously, I am NOT affiliated with ANTM and do not have any more information than they have disclosed. If and when I find out more details I will post them. Until then, all I can say is that I have no information.

I also cannot speak about the height requirements for Cycle 14 yet. That will most likely not be decided until producers evaluate the success of Cycle 13.
Mar 5, 2009 8:25 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
To the woman from Cleveland: You can apply by mailing in a video and the paper application, as it specifies in this article and on the ANTM website. You need to do it ASAP, however. The deadline is rapidly approaching.

On the list of eligibility requirements, it says include 3 photographs with your application, do you have to bring the photos to a live audition? I would go to the one in Denver, so do I have to have the application filled out and the photos? Also, would the photos have to be 8x11? Also, should we come to the applications in any specific clothing? Should we wear a swimsuit underneath or bring one separately?
Mar 6, 2009 4:23 AM
Guest :
what type of pictures do we need to bring?
Mar 6, 2009 7:15 AM
Guest :
When going to the open casting call do I need to fill out the application, or can i just go? Eveyone is telling me to go but I don't know if i should, being only 5'6 this would be a great oppertunity...
Another thing is what should I wear, and what should I except from the casting director?
Mar 6, 2009 7:24 AM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
The website does state that you MUST complete the application and bring it with you. The casting directors are really looking for girls with passion for modeling and fashion, as well as a unique story. Bring your personality and leave your nerves at home. You will be filmed for a few minutes, so think about what you would say if someone asks you why you want this opportunity.

Since the application must be complete at auditions, you should bring the three photographs with you. They do not need to be 8 X 10. Bringing a variety of looks is to your advantage. They want girls who are versatile.
Mar 6, 2009 4:39 PM
Guest :
Should the pictures be posed or just everyday pictures we already have?

im planning on going to the casting call..im 5'3' and i want to know if there's a problem with the fact that i'am a U.S legal resident but not citizen?
Mar 6, 2009 7:43 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
Legal resident is fine, as long as you have valid travel documents so you can go abroad.

As for what type of photographs to use, choose the clearest pictures you have. Don't go out and pay for new photos (they will be taking video there). Photos that clearly show your features and bone structure will help.

It says in the eligibility requirements that the deadline is midnight Pacific Standard Time on Tuesday March 10, 2009. Midnight is 12:00am, so does this mean midnight between Monday night and Tuesday morning? Or can the application arrive on Tuesday, as long as it is before midnight between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning? Hopefully that makes sense.
Mar 7, 2009 4:21 AM
Guest :
if the casting call is from 11 to 3 does that mean if we are not seen by 3 we dont get to be seen
Mar 7, 2009 5:45 AM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
I believe that means midnight between Monday and Tuesday.

As for the casting calls, I am not sure of the exact policy about when they stop seeing girls. I would highly recommend that everyone arrive early to ensure that they have ample time to get to you!
Mar 7, 2009 8:30 AM
Guest :
Do you know if you have to be there for the entire casting call, like first come first served, or can you check in anytime during the hours posted? I can't get a flight early enough to be there right at the beginning. Will there be girls that never even make it through the door because time has run out? Has anyone ever been through the process?

If you applied for the casting call in St. Louis and didn't get chosen are you still eligible to go to Chicago and reapply? There are some statements saying one application per cycle, but a representative at the casting call said that there would still be the opportunity in Chicago. I am a bit confused, am I eligible to apply in Chicago if I got seen in St. Louis?
Mar 8, 2009 8:09 AM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
To the permanent resident: The passport is important for more than identification. One of the regular features of ANTM is that the cast goes abroad. You MUST be able to travel internationally or you will not be eligible to win the competition. Renew your passport/travel documents immediately.

I'm not sure about reapplying at different auditions. Hopefully someone with more information can answer that question!

ok you didnt answer my question where can i pre register i would not like to go to another casting call and not even be able to be seen cause i didnt pre register again i cant find it any where and just really up set cause if i new i would have so can you pls put where we can pre register cause i dont see it any where on the cwtv web site
(pls any one who reads this and knows where i can pre register pls pls let me kno)
Mar 8, 2009 8:30 AM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
I didn't answer because I do not know. I ONLY have as much information as is available from their website and press releases. As I have stated, I am NOT affiliated with ANTM and cannot provide you with more information than they have released.
Mar 8, 2009 10:51 AM
Guest :
i was also at the providence casting call, i'm assuming i know the other girl who wrote about it because i was just about 5 girls away from being registered too. i drove two hours and waited in line for about 6. they said they stated on their website (cw28tv.com) that you NEEDED to pre-register to go, and 175 girls did online. on the tyra show it said go to cwtv.com for information, and clearly the two websites were different. so many girls were unaware you even had the opportunity to pre-register. therefore refused to let us be interviewed. so after i drove 2 hours home and wasted 10 hours of my day, i decided i'm going to new york this weekend.
i understand your not affiliated with ANTM, therefore cannot answer all our questions. so my question is, if you do not pre-register for the casting call, what time do you suggest going there to guarentee an audition? the ny casting call is 10-3. any advice? i'll go as early as i need to.

how does sending in the video work if you can not make one of the casting calls? what do you need to say in the video?? and is there less of a chance to make it into the competition if you only send in a video??
Mar 9, 2009 6:04 AM
Guest :
your video can not be longer than 2 minutes long. state your name, city you represent, your height, weight, and your age. then i would definitely include doing a runway walk, and say something that is unique about you and why you would be good in this competition. video applicants DO get choosed for the show, but you really have to stand out in it because there are just so many. unfortunately, unless you send it this morning (monday march 9th) and overnight it, it will not get there in time. the deadline is tuesday morning they need to recieve all videos.

hey girls! just to help out kimberly, everything you need to know about the specifics of the video and the specifics of the pictures are in the eligibility requirements. read all of it! it really is helpful and informing. you need 3 pictures, one head shot, one full length (clothed), and a full length swimsuit. for the video, it has to be under 3 minutes or they will not look at it. it should answer the question: why do you think you would be the ultimate top model? and also show off your best runway walk. again, all of this is in the eligibility requirements if you just read them. also, the address of where you need to mail everything is in there too. however, it does say that the videos are due by the 10th of march. thats 2moro. i was at the St. Louis casting and they said they arent due until the 13th. just get them in ASAP! good luck girls! :-)

Okay, sooooo I've read all of these 45 comments up to mine, and I don't know if you can answer this, because it was previously asked and you said "Bringing a variety of looks is to your advantage." So does that mean, "Yes, bring your bathing suit", or "Yes, wear it underneath" or "No, just look cute as hell"???

Sorry I'm just freaking since this saturday are the open calls in NY.
Thanks loads<3

I too went to the open call in Swansea- The commercials clearly stated to go to cw28tv.com to register and only 200 girls would be looked at. It also said this at swanseamall.com.

You can go to more than one open call, and mail in a video. However you can only mail in one application (I did both because my dvd only played on a computer)

Since my dvd was only working on a computer will it still be looked at?
Also I got looked at when I went to swansea- I am sorry for those of you who didn't.

In the future if you are going to an open call you should do some mad searches on the computer to garentee you do have what you need so you will not waste 10 hours of your day. I am sorry to those of you who it happend to.

Since Kimberly hasn't posted in a while maybe I can help some of you.

1. Wear flats- bring heels
2. Bring a bathing suite just in case.
3. Bring 2-3 tops
4. Wear nice jeans- a simple nice tank top, no jewelry, and little if any make up- they need to see the real you.
5. Have the app and pictures ready in a minilla envelope.
6. bring some form of entertainment it is a long line.

What to expect-

Varries at audition (I've been to 2- 5'7)
In my swansea audition- You said your name age height city and wieght, showed your cat walk, profile, and answered questions- then went home. Either they call or dont.

When I did one in LA (Dif cycle)
They piled around 100 in a room, you said your name age height city wieght, while you all have numbers. They call about 4-7. if you are one of them you show your walk and answer questions. Then you'll either get a call or you wont.

If you get a call you move on to another audition (idk what happends there). If you get past that you make it to the semi finals (1st episode)

Hope that helps a little-

Alyssa

P.S. If I didnt answer your ? I didn't know the answer.

Loves, and good luck everyone who auditioned or will audition!

Mar 11, 2009 3:00 AM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
Thanks to Alyssa for the great first-hand experience! If anyone didn't read her comment, please do!

To the girl from NY - Bring your swimsuit with you, just in case.

To the girl from Massachusetts - If this is your dream, then stop crying and go to the audition. Remember that the producers CAN grant exceptions (Fatima wasn't a US citizen, and she did wonderfully). However, you will not impress the casting directors if you are too stressed out. Just relax and do your best. And take care of getting that replacement passport and green card TODAY!

Just because Cycle 13 is for shorter models does not guarantee that Cycle 14 will be. You may still be able to achieve your goal and get on the show, it just might take an extra season or two before you get there.

I still don't have info on the Chicago or LA auditions, but I will post as soon as I hear anything.

Pre-registering:

I found my pre registration at cw28tv.com. You will most likely find yours at cw(what ever number is your location)tv.com.

I'm late to give info for Philidelphia and Honolulu but I can do my best for the rest of the open calls.

HARRISBURG

-March 12

In order to audition you must:

Bring a completed application

Bring completed Release and Waiver.

Three photographs:
-Close-up of face
-Full length of entire clothed body
-Full length swimsuit

Copies of your US Passport and Driver's License or a copy of your Social Security Card and Birth Certificate.

It doesn't give a pre reistration option and starts at 4. Get there early.

NEW YORK-> LA

Since the casting director is there there most likely is not a pre registration option. Its at a hotel so they will see as many people as possible.

The open calls in chicago and LA won't be announced for a while but they will show up befor the audition. If your worried about getting your ticket make it for the day before so time won't matter. For cycle 11 it was at a hotel and showed up about a week before the open call. Check the site dailey.

good luck!

i mean if you put on a good audition they aren't going to let that get in the way if you will be before the show shoots...

i'm pretty sure you will HAVE to be by the first day of shooting cuz like some of the shoots have nudity and stuff and when i did a bodypainting thing they like wanted to check my id cuz i don't look over 18 so it might even be like a law or something lol

tyra's an idiot, she shouldn't keep talls girls away just because she's trying to "break barriers" she should still allow tall girls to try out, even if she is accepting shorter models. If anything she is saying that short models cannot compete against tall models so we have to have seperate cycles. So cycle 13 is america's next top handicap model? thanks alot.. i'm 5'10.
Mar 11, 2009 8:25 PM

i think that you "tall" girls have had plenty of chances to audition for the cycles. We need 11 more cycles after cycle 13 to even be equal. I think she is okay making ONE whole cycle just for short girls...stay outta here hater

Hello All:
I just went to the audition yesterday(3/11/09) in Moorestown, NJ. Not far from Philly. You do not need a bathing suit. You will need 3 photos: close up, bathing suit, and clothed full length photo. You will be asked about 3 questions and asked to walk. It's simple! look simple! Models are plain and simple! Straight leg jeans or tights and a tank!! shoes your figure!! hair pulled back no makeup if you feel you need make up then little makeup! Less is best!! look natural!! Don't forget your heels ladies!!! I was there at 7:00 am and was # 92! my cousin was # 28 she got there at 3:00am!
You will not know the results when u go wait for your call!
Good Luck ladies!

Hey, I was wondering what the exact location is for the Los Angeles casting call on March 28th? I looked on the casting site and it doesn't give an exact location there either. I really want to audition, but I need at least some advance notice of exactly where to go to audition so I could prepare. Does anyone know yet?

i went to the casting call in NY today, and lets just say...while i was about 20 ft away from the door, all hell broke loose, and they closed down the auditions because of the madness. so many girls did not get a chance to audition because of what happened, but were promised to be seen, because we were so close to getting in. are there going to be any make ups or anything? or did we just get screwed out of a chance because a freak mania crowd?

Don't worry the open calls in NY went aweful- sned in a video even though its past the deadline. just before the 2oth...

I guess in NY cops shut it down early, rumors of fights, a girl passing out, cutting, and lighting a car on fire

I attended the casting in Hawaii last week and was pretty disgusted with the results. I'm not a model myself, I just came out as a photographer since I knew a few models going to audition. There was nobody who works on the show at the casting, and the callbacks were determined by the staff of the salon where the casting was held. The 10 girls they picked for callbacks were all friends of the salon employees... I was standing next to one of those girls chosen in line and she had acne and braces.

I am 5'4", and modeling would be my dream job. Unfortunately, i am only seventeen at the current time. Maybe in a few years, like season 15 or so, you should try this again. I look forward to watching the season on the CW. Many thanks for trying something like this and giving s many girls the hope that they can do it too.

yeah lol its not a rumor, you can catch it on the news or look up videos posted online. do you think my video would actually be looked at considering its past deadline?
Mar 15, 2009 11:38 AM
Guest :
I have now seen the videos from the NYC audition, and all I can say is oh my god...

Send it in, tell them about- they'll look at it. They don't really start looking at videos until the last open call is finished, they just set a deadline to make sure they won't get videos after the last audition. But send it soon...

This is also on the casting page for ANTM regarding the NYC auditions:

An altercation occurred today at a casting call for the next edition of “America’s Next Top Model” in New York City. Representatives of The CW are working and cooperating with local authorities on the matter.

They may hold castings there again... If anyone would dare to try to go back... I wouldn't have.

hello,
as many others have asked i too am curious to know about the othere upcoming auditions. Is the Chicago audition still going on and the location has yet to posted and its scheduled in 10 days? its making things so harder for those of us who have to travel to get there and not knowing where to go until the last minute. I hope that with Chicago being a big city like New York that there isnt going to be any bad situations accuring. If this situation is causing alot of rucus i hope that maybe they can change the dates of everything so it becomes fair to the rest of the girls.

Also, for those of you who HAVE already been to an audition, my question for you is, DID YOU HAVE TO PRE-REGISTER AND OR HAVE AN APPLICATION ALREADY WITH YOU? IF YOU HAVE TO PRE-REGISTER HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT DOING THAT? Any information is greatfully appreciated.

Thanks All

I will not be approving any more comments asking where the Chicago casting is. Until ANTM announces it, we have NO information. As soon as it is posted on the website (which is still live, so I'm not sure why people are claiming the links don't work), we will comment here. At present, the Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles castings are still going to happen. The locations and times have not been announces, so if you plan on traveling, arrange your plans so you get into town the night before.

Please read the comments already posted. Alyssa has posted TONS of helpful information.

At present, the only statement from the show about the debacle in New York is this:
“We are concerned by the events that occurred Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of the New York City casting call for the next cycle of ‘America’s Next Top Model.’ At this time, we still don’t know all the details of what happened or what triggered the incident. We appreciate the efforts of the NYPD and will assist them in any way possible in this matter.”

I have not seen an official statement extending the application deadline because of the New York problems.

Hello Kimberly

I know that you’ve been bombarded with all of emails and comments on here. I won’t take too much of your time. All I wanted to know was that there’s a certain time for the auditions, so if it’s scheduled from let’s say 10a.m to 6p.m and there’s still quite a bit of audience waiting in line, are they just rejected at that point or what happens?

Pink
Mar 16, 2009 5:59 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
Hi Pink,

They do have to cut off the line near the ending time, so make sure that you arrive early. They only have the locations reserved for auditions for specific amounts of time and need to clear the crowds at the end of the day.

Please don't submit multiple times or swear in your comments (those are deleted). I am VERY hesitant to approve any comments that just say "email me" and I cannot approve anything with a link.

Let's see, questions I haven't answered... There is no application fee, so don't worry about that. As for the 29 year old woman, ANTM has never accepted anyone of that age but producers do reserve the right to grant exceptions to any of their rules. It is a very slim chance, though.

What if you are 18 but you have yet to complete high school, and the graduation/completion of the school year is during the exact time of the filming of the show? Can you still apply?
Mar 19, 2009 2:33 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
You can apply, but you will have to make your own arrangements for the end of the school year. That is a decision that should be discussed with your parent or guardian. Can you work something out with your teachers to finish the school year early, or would this decision mean repeating the semester or failing to graduate?

In Season 7, Brooke was actually eliminated on the day of her high school's graduation ceremony. However, she managed to complete her requirements before the show filmed and stated in interviews that she did not regret missing prom and graduation. Only you can decide how important those things are to you.

To answer the questions above, by going to cwtv.com youll notice under the eligibility requirements it say that you can still apply after the march 10th deadline. THe only way to do so now is by completing the written part of the application (Video tape is not required), and bring it to any of the open calls.
Now what im wondering is how do you preregister? is that necessary? And for example if open call begins @7am and lining up isnt allowed until 6am, should i wake up extra early anyway and get there before 6am

I found this information out from a director at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Audition yesterday! I would plan on going to a different audition."

Wow! Reading all of these posts has been a bit overwhelming. Needless, to say the debacle that occured in New York is clear evidence of a lack of planning, organizational skills, and issues such as these should have been forseen considering the anticpated number of applicants for this season.

In addition, I currently live in Chicago and was planning on attending the audition here. However, I have been checking the CW's website and nothing has been posted and the auditions are tomorrow. At first I was thinking that nothing had been posted to try to prevent what happened in New York, but after reading the post about the Chicago and LA auditions being private, it is starting to make a little sense to me. Unlike so many other hopefuls who booked travel to Chicago this week, I live here and I feel sorry for those who are coming to audition and there is a possibility that they won't be able to.

In closing, I would like to think that the Producers of America's Next Top Model would be a bit more organizaed and structured when releasing information to the general public. I would hope that they wouldn't display audition dates if individuals were not allowed to come out and audition, and if this were to be the case it should have been indicated. Good luck to everyone that is planning on auditioning and I hope that we hear something soon.

I was just reading a message on another website, and a girl stated...
"Just so you guys know I heard that the information is not listed because it is not open to the public. it is a second round audition for the chosen girls from the previous locations, these second round are taking place in Chicago and LA that is why the information is not listed. I found this information out from a director at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Audition yesterday! I would plan on going to a different audition."

Does anyone know if this is true? Anyone who has went to an audition already? Let me know please and thank you A LOT!!

I know it states that they are open to the public but it's really looking like it's not. unless they randomly post it to the public tom. At least then the girls' who have bought plane tickets won't waste money.

I am 6' tall and athletic. When will Cycle 14 begin filming and can I apply for Cycle 14 either by video or casting call? When is the deadline for Cycle 14 and will I be able to audition since I am tall and slender? Also, I have a passport and birth certificate, but I do not have a SSN card or driver's license-do I need to have the card or license before applying?

Anyone know how long it will be until we hear back from CW? I tried out in Harrisburg, PA. I'm not expecting to be called back or anything, but I would at least like to hear that I did NOT make it! Does anyone know if we get a call, email, or letter? The CW staff at Harrisburg said that they would let us know, but not how.

Thanks!

Hello,
So Alyssa, you recommend wearing jeans and a tank top is that correct? With heels and hair pulled back with little to no makeup? I was considering wearing a dress by Betsy Johnson you think thats to flashy?you advice would be greatly apperciated and by others as well. Those that applied what did the girls mostly wear? I apperciate this site cause the girls are friendly here the other sites the girls are so harsh and mean its scary!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU HOPE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!!!!

Barbie,

If a casting director will be in attendance I wouldn't wear a dress, even though I'm sure its gorgeous. One reason is it doesn't show definition in your hips and legs and they need an idea of what you look like. The other reason is because part three of the open call if you make it to that point- they have the girls hold up their shirts and take a picture to see what their stomach looks like. If you can't show it, you would most likely be cut.

Good Luck!

Hi! I am attending the LA Americas Next Top Model Casting and I have a few questions. I saw that people were talking about having apointment times to audition, can you explain that? I was contacted by a company claiming to cast for the show and they want me to come in for a private interview. The guy said that they only set up special interviews for certain people they are interested in. Has anyone else dealt with this? I want to know if it is legit. Thanks!

Princess- It may be legit, they do sometimes pick people they see and invite them to an open call the day before by invitation only. It would be the day before at the same location. Don't go alone no matter what though. If you aren't sure go to the open call. If you were spotted once you will most likely be spotted again.

is it still too late to apply?

i'm pretty positive it is, but i want to double check.
and if it is closed, will cycle 14 or any to follow allow us shorter girls in?
I'm 5'2 and have always dreamed of modeling, but just now found out about this golden opportunity.

Kimberly Kunaniec :
It is too late to apply to Cycle 13, but keep an eye on the CW website for information about future seasons. That is where you will find the application and info on sending a video. I don't have information about future height requirements yet. It may just depend on how well this cycle goes!

Hey....well I went to the casting call in Dallas and did pretty well...and never received a call back,"can you say broken heart" but Im over the heart break and Im ready for a second shot!!! Will cycle 14 be for the shorter girls too? When will the casting start? And why do they tell girls to try out again...I mean if they dont like me or my look the first time, why would they like it the 2-3-4-5 time you know?!?!

I think it's great that they are allowing shorter girls this year! I am far from tall (5ft) but I don't look short unless I'm standing next to someone! I want to become a model but I was too late this year. Maybe this will be an eye opener to more agencies that beauty comes in different sizes! Dynamite comes in small packages!!!

ok so when do the auditions for cycle fourteen begin? Can you still audition for cycle 14 if you are under 5'7"? is the application for cycle 13 the same for cycle 14? if you cant make it to any of the casting calls where do you mail your photos and application and video? do you have to have like a really perfect body to make it in the auditions? how much money all together does it cost concerning providing your own traveling expenses?
May 13, 2009 9:02 PM
Kimberly Kunaniec :
Information about Cycle 14 has not been released yet. As soon as I see anything I will post an announcement, but as of now I have no idea what the restrictions will be. They may wait to start filming before making a decision about future height guidelines.

When that information has been posted, all the information about videos can be found on the CW website. The application form and addresses are all available online during casting periods.

No one has a perfect body and most models on ANTM have to learn to pose to minimize their weaknesses. That said, it helps if your overall physique puts you closer to the "normal" skinny models or the plus size category.

Hello,
I will be turning 29 years old next month and have always thought about auditioning for the show. The only problem was that I did not meet the certain height requirements, now that Tyra is casting for shorter models, I would love to have the opportunity since I am 5'4. I also don't look my age. Would it be worth while to audition anyway or is there still a chance?
