ANTM Cycle 7 - Episode 6, Recap

Graduation or Elimination - how about both

Brooke missed graduation to get tossed off of "Top Model". Tyra gets an attitude with a few of the girls. She also takes some scary pics, and the girls cuddle with Fabio.

Halloween came a bit early on last night's "Top Model", y'all. Now, I'm not sure what's scarier to me - having to cuddle with Fabio in a romance-novel inspired photo shoot or wearing vampire-like contact lenses and spooking it up for Tyra.

Of course, maybe it's even scarier to walk on a dinner table for a bigwig at Elite Model Management.

I'm just saying that there was a lot of fear on this week's "Top Model". Don't forget Jaeda's weekly complaint about her boy hair. Is it me, or is this season getting annoying pretty quickly? I mean there's really no sympathetic favorite. I dislike most of these girls pretty equally.

Oh, I still have my faves like CariDee. I even like Melrose to win this competition because well, she might need it to break her into the industry. At 23 she's old. Now, that scares me!

Hehe!

Oh wait! Don't forget our resident plus-size gal, Anchal! How sick is the modeling industry when a size six, which I'm pretty sure Anchal is, is considered overweight?

Wait! Let's get to the recap. I've spent too much time editorializing. I just couldn't help myself. I'm still a little upset about AJ's elimination. Now, I have to pick a new frontrunner.

So, the girls decide to treat themselves to some pizza. Eugena heads to the diary room to kvetch about her housemates. She tells us Jaeda won't stop whining about her hair. We know! We know! She says that CariDee can't keep her clothes on. My husband was like "Hello! Hello!" I walked away for a second, but I'm told that Eugena goes on to say things we already know like "Anchal is insecure" and "Melrose is a b*tch."

Now, Anchal starts talking about her weight. We have something in common! I always discuss how fat I am after eating pizza too. Brooke is in the other room. She got a care package from home with her diploma in it. She missed her prom and graduation to be on the show.

In the AM, Melrose goes out to the backyard and sees photo equipment. Tyra's going to take pics of each of the gals. It's going to be black and white and edgy. The girls wear white contact lenses and look a bit freaky. CariDee rocks it! Melrose has trouble doing angry. Jaeda complains that she looks like a freak. Oh God! Can someone shut her up?

Soon after the girls get Tyra Mail that asks them if they want to "flaunt their assets." They arrive at their destination. Sutan, a makeup artist who's been on the show before, comes out in full drag. He introduces his pal, Dita Von Teese, Mrs. Marilyn Manson. She's also a burlesque performer and is trying to teach the girls who to be sexy without being sleazy and how to tease without giving it all away.

Brook complains that her dad will be upset if she has to strip. Poor Brook-ey!

After the challenge, Dita tells the girls that they need to be very sexy but not slutty for their next challenge. What is it? They do a 'runway' show on the dinner table of Elite Model Management's Cathy Gould. Melrose won again! This time the prize was a photo shoot for Seventeen Magazine. She picks Amanda, Michelle and Brooke to go with.

Melrose laughs about the fact that the oldest girl on the 'block' so to speak is doing a shoot for Seventeen.

So are we, dear! So are we! 23 is soooooooooo ancient! I mean after the shoot, you should stop off at the Social Security Office.

Now, it's time for the main photo shoot. The girls are going to reenact romance novel covers with - get this - Fabio! Oh My God! Fabio was like so popular in the late 80s and early 90s! Brooke was a toddler then, right?

The pics were pretty bad overall. I think Anchal and CariDee, however, could have a career in porn. I'm just saying. At judging, I think Tyra was having a bad day or something. She was cranky. She yelled at Eugena for her bad attitude. How come no one yells at Jaeda for being a brat about her hair? Huh? However, they send Brooke home for reasons I'm not quite sure.

Brooke sort of remarked that she could've been at graduation instead. It was her graduation night, after all. Tyra then snaps at her saying something to the effect of 'Do you know how many girls would rather be in your shoes?' Really? They'd rather be kicked off a show the same night they could be graduating! The girl had a right to say how she was feeling.

Of course, I was also upset at Diva la Banks when she tore into Michelle and told her she was just making excuses. Michelle said she's never 'cuddled in bed' with a man before and felt uncomfortable, which translated into a bad picture.

Anyway, do you think it's fair for Tyra and crew to knock off a girl on the night of her graduation? Was Brooke tossed off for drama? Will they ever leave Michelle and her questionable sexuality alone? Are you getting sick of this season, already? Does anyone think that Fabio's appearance was a bit sleazy? C'mon now. Let's discuss.

All in all, tonight's show proved that ANTM is much better when the writers aren't on strike. Tyra seems to need an attitude adjustment. Hopefully, things improve soon, or I may not want to stick around 'til the end of this cycle!
