New twists include a "Have vs. Have-nots" theme, a cast based on high school stereotypes, and a team-based game for the first time in the show's history.

An abundance of new details about Big Brother Season 11 were revealed on RealityBBQ.com by a show insider known only by the username “CornerOffice.” CornerOffice’s information, which includes the “Alice in Wonderland” house theme for season eight and the identities of the Big Brother 10 Houseguests, has proven to be reliable and accurate in the past. Here's what CornerOffice says you can expect from the new season:

Haves vs. Have-nots

Season 11 of Big Brother will be based around the “Haves” and the “Have-nots,” a twist that was already used on the sixth edition of NBC’s The Apprentice and the fourteenth edition of CBS’ Survivor, shot in Fiji. In both cases, the twist resulted in an extremely unbalanced game with the “Haves” dominating over the “Have-nots” early on. The Survivor: Fiji season was not well-received by fans, and its unpopularity almost led to the cancellation of the entire series. With executive producer Allison Grodner’s low twist success rate, it’s anyone’s guess why producers chose to attempt a twist that’s already fallen flat on two other reality shows, although the “Haves vs. Have-nots” has apparently worked well on some international versions of Big Brother.

This twist will not only play into the game, but it will be a theme throughout the new house as well, presumably with some rooms containing only the bare minimum and others lavishly stocked and decorated.

High School Stereotypes

As previously speculated, CornerOffice has revealed that the cast of Big Brother 11 will be made up of Houseguests that fit into typical high school stereotypes, ranging from the jock to the geek and everything in between. On-line postings by Big Brother casting associates looking to recruit specific types of characters indicate that a nerdy girl and a “Suicide Girl” look-a-like may be in the new cast, along with the obligatory hot single men and women.

Sources now indicate that there will most likely be 12 Houseguests after all, although the possibility of one or two previous contestants playing some role in the game has yet to be definitively ruled out.

A Team Game

With the exception of season nine where producers paired Houseguests with their “perfect love match,” Big Brother has always been a purely individual game. This season, however, the beginning of the game will be played as teams, a first in the show’s history. According to CornerOffice, the Houseguests will be told to form their own teams upon entering the house, rather than the producers dividing them up.

While the “Haves vs. Have-nots” suggests that there will be two teams, an administrator at RealityBBQ.com claims there will be more than two. Curiously, the CBS Web site contains blank Houseguest photos that are color-coded with four different colors: green, orange, purple, and blue. It may just be coincidence, or it may be an indication that there will be four teams, not two.

What’s Next?

As of today, the Big Brother 11 Houseguests are sequestered as they undergo press interviews and other preparations before entering the house. The new cast is expected to be revealed to the public on July 1st and the game will begin on July 5th. Of course, you can catch the premiere of the new season on Thursday, July 9 at 8:00 p.m. EST on CBS.
