Just when The Apprentice proved to be getting predictable, Donald Trump changed the formula to include celebrities. In doing so, he created a whole new dynamic and an even better guilty pleasure for the viewing public.
Contestants will still compete in business-related tasks, but rather than vying for a job with the Trump Organization, he or she will be rewarded in dollars for their designated charities. Each week a celebrity will be “fired” by Trump. The last celebrity standing will be named the “Celebrity Apprentice” and will receive $250,000 as an additional bonus to give to their favorite organization.
Fourteen popular entertainers and sports figures signed on to participate in Celebrity Apprentice, each chosen for his or her business knowledge and level of fame. Participants include:
Carol Alt is one of the world’s first supermodels, appearing on over 700 magazine covers. Her near three-decade-career has included movies, television shows, posters, calendars and workout videos. She’s also an author of several books on raw food.
Part of the famed Baldwin acting family, Stephen Baldwin has added author, actor, and producer to his list of accomplishments. He is known for his roles in The Usual Suspects, Bio-Dome, and Fled, among others. Despite his hard work and success in winning twice as project manager, Baldwin was fired in Week 11.
Gymnast Nadia Comaneci is best known for her series of perfect ten scores in the 1976 Montreal Olympic games. She is a five-time gold medalist and married to former gymnast Bart Conner. Comaneci was voted off in Week 2.
Former Playboy Playmate of the Year Tiffany Fallon is more than just a pretty face. Her charm and wit have helped her succeed in the television world both as a host and actress. Fallon was voted off the show in Week 1.
Finch is an Olympic Gold Medalist in softball and is well known for logging 60 NCAA softball victories. Finch was voted off after the women's team lost their fourth straight challenge in Week 4.
Galán is a former executive for Telemundo Television and has run her own production company for over a decade. She narrowly missed firings on two different weeks, but when she showed up in the boardroom in Week 6, Trump let her go.
Henner is known for her long-time acting roles on Taxi and Evening Shade. She is dedicated to health and fitness, and has written six books on nutrition. Henner got fired in Week 8, after a challenge selling products on QVC.
Lewis is a former boxer and heavyweight champion. Lewis, Muhammad Ali, and Evander Holyfield are the only three boxers to win the championship from three individual outings.
Morgan is known for his often blunt and insensitive comments as judge of America’s Got Talent. He is author of the bestseller, “The Insider, Private Diaries of a Scandalous Decade.”
One of the few celebrities to go by a single name, Omarosa first achieved fame by appearing on the first season of The Apprentice. Her direct (and sometimes dishonest) approach made her an instant reality star. After weeks of verbal battle with Piers Morgan, Omarosa was beaten in the biggest slaughter in Apprentice history, and was fired in Week 10. She was the only project manager to lose three times.
Ortiz is known as an ultimate fighting champion, competing in both professional wrestling and martial arts.
Actor Vincent Pastore is perhaps best known for his role as “Big Pussy” on the hit series The Sopranos. After acting as a double-agent (spying for Team Hydra and then joining the ranks of Empresario), Pastore became irritated with Piers Morgan and quit in Week 5.
Simmons is a rock legend and successful entrepreneur. He helped found the band KISS and was instrumental when it came to licensing the group’s image and likeness. Simmons was voted off surprisingly early, in Week 3.
Adkins is a music star that has made the most of his personal brand. Known for his heartfelt songs as much as for his burly frame, he has established himself as a genuine country legend.
