The Actors and Musicians Say Good-Bye at a Wrap Party

Fame is good for the cast of Confessions of a Teen Idol. The series finale ends with a wrap party, where they are presented with gifts from Jason Hervey and Scott Baio.

VH1’s reality series Confessions of a Teen Idol has followed seven former teen stars who want to reignite their careers. For seven episodes, they have dealt with their pasts and changes in Hollywood. In last week’s episode, the stars discussed the roles that got away. This week marks the last episode of the show. Though the cast members are ready to go home, they have bonded together as family.

Group Therapy with Cooper Lawrence

The stars head back behind the big black doors for their last group therapy session with celebrity therapist Cooper Lawrence. Cooper has one last question to pose to each of the guys: “Do you want your fame back?” After all of the ups and downs of the show, each man still wants their fame. Even Jamie Walters (Beverly Hills, 90210) and Eric Nies (The Real World) answer in the affirmative after their struggles with the process.

One-on-One Therapy Sessions

After group, Cooper asks to see each of the stars individually to discuss things about their careers and lives. They sit in front of a photograph from the star when they were at the peak of their careers. She asks them about the men they were and the men they have become since then. Eric read Cooper a letter that he wrote about the entertainment business.

At the end of each session, she has the idol remove his old photograph and get rid of it. Underneath is a current photograph, representing where they are now. Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), who unleashed emotions about his family during his session, threw his portrait across the room and hung his new photograph in the main house. The rest of the cast followed his lead.

Billboard on Sunset Boulevard

The final call sheet arrives for the Confessions cast, stating that they will be picked up at 8 PM for the wrap party. The cast is amazed that Eric is dressed up and owns real shoes. At eight, producers Jason Hervey and Scott Baio arrive to pick them up. They get dressed up and head out, although they almost leave Jamie behind. Halfway to the party, Jason and Scott ask the cast if they can stop for a moment. They stand on Sunset Boulevard, and looking up they see a promotion for Confessions of a Teen Idol. Each of their names and faces flashes across the screen.

Wrap Party

Arriving at the wrap party, the friends and family of the cast are all waiting to celebrate. Jason and Scott thanked all the guests for coming, and called the guys on stage. Each cast member gives a short speech about the meaning of the experience. Billy Hufsey (Fame) keeps his speech short and sweet. Christopher Atkins (The Blue Lagoon) expresses his gratitude to his daughter, who convinced him to appear on the show. With all of the ups and downs, the one thing all seven men agree on is that they have learned and grown together.

Parting Gifts for the Idols

Jason and Scott tell the stars that there is one thing left for them before they go. They arranged opportunities for each of the cast members to advance their careers. Billy is first to hear what is in store for him. He has a meeting with award-winning producer Desmond Child and his music video will air on VH1. Jeremy is given a new publicist courtesy of VH1, as well as a job hosting a music countdown show. Eric is set up with a meeting with MTV Books, since he needs a publisher for a book promoting his message, and a production team to help him with his documentary on drug addiction.

The reluctant musician, Jamie, is set up with a Music & Marketing Vice President at Nickelodeon to discuss writing a song for one of their shows. He is also given studio time, which is a large expense for musicians. David Chokachi (Baywatch) will work with a hosting coach and take a meeting with executives from the network FX. Adrian Zmed (T.J. Hooker) will perform his one-man show in Hollywood, and take a meeting with Nickelodeon about a possible TV show. The final cast member, Chris, is meeting with a producer who specializes in romantic comedies. Thanks to his meeting with the Hollywood gatekeepers in a previous week, he is also offered a role in a new television pilot.

The season of Confessions of a Teen Idol may be over, but the careers of its seven stars are just beginning again. Visit the Confessions of a Teen Idol page for information on the show and its stars.
