Kathy Griffin Might Be D-List

But Her Laughs are A-List

Comic Kathy Griffin proves her life is Emmy® gold with her critically acclaimed reality show airing on the Bravo television network.

Accompanied by her family, consisting of her mom, Maggie and her assistants (better known as Team Griffin: Jessica, Tiffany, and Tom) Kathy Griffin takes on the world of Hollywood and beyond with her dry, sarcastic humor. She is out to show the world her life on the D-list, but really proves that her life is A-list quality.

Each episode begins with a clip from one of Kathy’s stand-up performances where she is commenting on a celebrity or pseudo-celebrity. This is Kathy’s normal comedic shtick when she is performing. After this clip ends, the episode begins with Kathy telling viewers about her latest adventure. Kathy makes her Team Griffin participate in less than thrilling scenarios. For instance, recently Team Griffin was forced to conduct a seminar for the Learning Annex in Los Angeles. Team Griffin turned the tables though by providing personal stories of Kathy. Kathy constantly explains the “abuse” is to keep them “in line”.

The search for status is an on-going battle for Kathy. She is always trying to find ways of increasing her status. Some ideas include dating Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, marrying a couple from New York, trying to hand out money to women in Los Angeles and renovating a school for children in Mexico.

But Kathy also brings the audience into the negative parts of her life. Her show has seen her go through her divorce and the loss of her father, whom she credits along with her mom for providing her with her hilariously painful sense of humor. Moments like this make her show much warmer and more welcoming than other reality shows and suggest that the fun, fiery, red-head is as golden as her Emmy award..
