Most Haunted Live - Village Of The Damned (2)Ghostly Happenings Or One Big Scam
It the penultimate night of Most Hainted Live and it is still unclear whether the ghosts are real or the programme is a well orchestrated scam.
Two more nights of ghosthunting are afoot in the North Wales Hospital in Denbigh for the Most Haunted Live crew. It has been an interesting week which in all honesty has been superb entertainment. One thing that is still uncertain though is whether they have discovered any real paranormal activity or whether it is an elaborate hoax. This week the audience has been witness to Yvette and the team visiting various locations in the hospital in the hunt for paranormal activity. Each night they have heard whistling and moaning and stones have been thrown. On a couple of very scary occasions windows smashed. They have also conducted various experiments to try and coax the spirits out of hiding. It is interesting to note however that there has been very little that cannot be explained by common sense. Anyone who has worked in TV or has any knowledge of how a film is made can spot certain tell tale signs which give away the scam. Each night the Brian is in contact with different spirits, be they witches or ex-patients. They then ask for verification from the resident historian Lesley who then searches the internet for proof. This could seem like Brian is actually hearing things and speaking to ghosts or it could be that they have researched the building and the area and found people of interest to bring into the show. Maybe a give away is that the spirits tend to be from the latter part of the nineteenth century. Is this done so that there cannot be any living relatives who will complain that they are bringing up the spirit of an ancestor? Surely ghosts, if they are real, are not just from the nineteenth century but also from a more recent time. It is funny how people get so carried away with the show that they discuss it on the forum and start arguing over how the team are carrying out the vigil in the right manner. Ofcom did an investigation of the show and came to the conclusion that it wasn't a legitimate investigation into the paranormal but an entertainment show. It goes to show how people can be so gullible and fall for pretty much anything if it is staged right. A prime example of this has to be the webcams. Each night the four cameras are trained in different areas and people can report in any sightings. The studio is inundated with calls of ghostly orbs and the like but any respectable person watching them will actually see nothing. Maybe you have to be tuned into the sprirt world to witness these events. It may be churlish to attack the programme in this way as it is purely an entertainment show and more fool the people who fall for it. It is very scary in places (the night in the mortuary was fantastic) and there have been things which have been hard to explain (the look on Paul Ross' face was pure terror, there was no way he was acting). It has been an excellent way to unwind for Halloween and has spawned countless imitations of Yvette and Brians exhortations. Who knows? maybe tonight or tomorrow they will actually come into contact with the spirit world and proof will exist once and for all on national television.
