Real Housewives Man UpHousehusbands of Hollywood to Debut on FOX Reality Channel
The men of the new reality series holds down the fort while their wives take on the workforce.
Premiering Saturday, August 15th at 9pm on FOX Reality Channel, Househusbands of Hollywood borrows the Real Housewives formula by switching roles and placing men as center of attention. Unlike the cattiness and diva antics of Bravo's popular series, the show hopes to capture how men handle running a household, taking care of the children and dealing with the stereotypes of role reversal. Aside from lending a short period of their lives to reality television, the husbands casted have had successful careers in the past in sports and entertainment, but passed on the torch to their wives to pursue and maintain their flourishing careers in male dominated industries. Bill AshleyAshley is a former Major League Baseball player of the Los Angeles Dodgers married to make-up artist Lisa Ashley. After a six year professional career in the MLB, Ashley retired in 1999. He is a stay-at-home dad for their two pre-teen daughters, Alexa and Sophia. A father home with two almost teen daughters could possibly involve lots of commotion. Danny BarclayA one-time pre-med student, Barclay is now an aspiring actor and married to Hollywood attorney Katherine Barclay. Darryl M. BellBell is best known for his role in A Different World as Ron Johnson. He is currently in a long-term relationship with Tempestt Bledsoe who played Vanessa on The Cosby Show. They have been together for 16 years. Charlie MatteraMattera is actor, screenwriter and producer who is currently married to a prominent psychologist. In addition, Mattera has a criminal record, which could be the only dramatic bit of the series. They have a baby son, Ryan. Grant ReynoldsReynolds is a former United States Marine Corps sniper and married to Jillian Reynolds, co-host of the Los Angeles morning show Good Day L.A. weather woman for FOX NFL Sundat. They have a 2-year old daughter, Ruby. It would be interesting to see what stay-at-home husbands do with their time aside from their day-to-day household duties and the interaction with their wives after coming home from a long day. Viewers should be happy to witness how men handle the chores instead of watching rich women battling it out over gossip and how quickly they can spend their husband’s cash - unfortunately that's what brings in the ratings. So will egos get bruised on this new dose of reality? Househusbands of Hollywood is produced by Marilyn Wilson Productions Inc., with Marilyn Wilson, Scooter Pietsch, Lisa Bernstein and Charlie Mattera also serving as executive producers and creators.
