Big Brother 8 is now taking applications for its next season, and winning is easy, if you can become a Big Brother cast member, and if you have the right formula.

Big Brother is a reality TV show that takes more than a little physical and mental skill to win. The most intriguing thing about Big Brother is that it requires the power to manipulate people, which few individuals have.

The Big Brother 8 reality TV series is beginning the process of casting, as the show’s name suggests, its eighth season.

The Big Brother 8 Game

This runaway summer hit reality TV show places 14 people in an isolated house, calling them houseguests, at least, that is, until their housemates vote to evict them from the Big Brother reality TV game.

Like other reality TV series, Big Brother contestants – a wide array of beautiful women, handsome men and usually one or two seemingly out-of-place players – compete in weekly competitions. Winners are named Head of Household and holders of the mighty Power of Veto.

The Big Brother Head of Household must name two houseguests as nominees to be evicted. They and others then compete for the Power of Veto, which gives its winner the right to veto one of the Head of Household’s nominations, forcing the Big Brother house’s leader to place a different houseguest on the proverbial "chopping block."

As the summer progresses in the Big Brother house, these reality TV competitors begin forming alliances with one another, promising to stick together until the end. Most times, though, the players are lying – a very key weapon in the game.

How to Win Big Brother 8

The reason most Big Brother house guests fail to make it to the final two (the ones who win prize money) is because the average reality TV series competitor does not know how to properly manipulate people in a game circumstance.

Big Brother is a chess match, which requires patience, cunning and calculation.

The classic and famous losers of various Big Brother games, Janelle, Marcellas, Howie, Erika and Diane, including season seven’s Big Brother All-Stars, made critical errors in judgement – trusting the wrong people and turning on potentially-good allies at the wrong time.

The winner of Big Brother All-Stars, Mike Boogie, played a flawless game of manipulation. Here are 5 Big Brother strategies Mike Boogie used to win and that any Big Brother 8 player, serious about winning, should employ.

5 Big Brother 8 Strategies

  1. Stick with one legitimate partner until the end -- Big Brother 8 candidates won’t have the advantage of knowing a person, as Mike Boggie knew Dr. Will, but they should be sure to find one strong-willed, charismatic person immediately and forge an alliance of only two. Don't make the critical error of allying yourself with three or four Big Brother house guests.
  2. Create a Big Brother reality TV "showmance" -- Big Brother All-Stars winner, Mike Boogie, got into a romantic relationship with another strong player, Erika. Although his true alliance was with Dr. Will, he always had Erika’s vote. When played properly, a reality TV showmance can be a serious Big Brother ally.
  3. Pit one Big Brother alliance against another -- Mike Boogie and Dr. Will were notorious manipulators, constantly getting one alliance to go after another one -- deflecting attention away from themselves. One of the biggest keys to winning reality TV’s Big Brother 8 is to never get emotionally involved with people getting evicted. Mike’s and Dr. Will’s strategy was simply to get other people evicted each week – no matter who it was.
  4. Win few, if any Big Brother competitions -- All of the Big Brother All-Stars were constantly calling Janelle the greatest player in Big Brother history, because she was always winning the Big Brother competitions. In the end, though, she didn’t win. Mike Boogie stayed behind the scenes, never even trying to win, until the end of the game, when winning competitions mattered most. Just be sure people don't notice; you don't want to fall into the deathtrap of being called a "floater." So, look good losing.
  5. Be ruthless -- In Big Brother All-Stars, Mike Boogie was in bed with Erika, telling her he would stick by her all of the way. Erika did make the finals but not because Mike Boogie was with her. And, in the end of Big Brother All-Stars, Mike got more votes to win the game, because people admired how he played the game, over the beautiful Erika, whom most Big Brother contestants, ironically, felt gave a dirty reality TV performance.

So, when you get a Big Brother 8 cast call, be sure to memorize these 5 Big Brother 8 Strategies.

Oh, and don't forget your friend at Suite101, when you are reality TV's next big winner.
