Rock of Love Bus Airs on VH1 in Jan. 2009Poison's Bret Michaels Returns for a Third Reality Show Series
Bret Michaels and Rock of Love 2 winner Ambre Lake are no longer dating. Michaels' break-up makes way for a Rock of Love 3, called "Rock of Love Bus."
Show business relationships are not known for their longevity and the relationship between Poison's Bret Michaels and Rock of Love 2 winner Ambre Lake was no different. Shortly after Rock of Love 2 aired, VH1 announced that Michaels and Lake split, making way for a third Rock of Love series that's set to air on VH1 beginning in January 2009. A Look at Rock of Love 1, 2 and Why It Didn't Work Out With Bret Michaels and Rock of Love 2 Winner Ambre Lake During the Rock of Love reunion show that aired at the conclusion of Rock of Love's season one, Bret openly acknowledged that he picked the wrong girl when he picked 23-year-old Jes Rickleff over runner-up Heather Chadwell. So when things didn't work out between Jes and Bret, Rock of Love creators Chris Abrego, Mark Cronin and their production company, 51 Minds, decided it was time to give Bret a second shot at love. So they found a whole new set of women to comprise the Rock of Love 2 cast, which included Ambre Lake, Daisy De La Hoya, Megan Hauserman, Destiney Moore and Brandi Cunningham, better known as just Brandi C. For a second time, Bret Michaels found himself in a female-filled mansion and one by one, the Rock of Love 2 cast members were sent home when they failed to receive a backstage pass during the elimination ceremony. Bret whittled down the pool of potential mates until he was left with two finalists: Ambre Lake and Daisy De La Hoya. Again, it seems that Bret picked the wrong woman when he picked Ambre because for a second time, the short-lived relationship ended in a split. According to VH1, Bret and Ambre "really tried to make it work and although they still remain close friends, between his tour line-up and her work schedule there’s no time for a relationship." Ambre has said this about her relationship with the Poison front man: “Bret has been very upfront and honest about how difficult maintaining a normal relationship may be for a touring rock star. He’s right, it’s absolutely an insane lifestyle and neither of us had the time to make it work." A Look at the Third Rock of Love Series on VH1 In Rock of Love Bus, there will be no posh mansion. This time, the Rock of Love cast members will get a taste of life on the road, as the entire reality show will take place on a tour bus. This third Rock of Love series may very well be a winner for Bret, since he'll get a first-hand look at how the cast members handle a rock star life on the road. How does VH1 describe Rock of Love Bus? According to VH1's official announcement for the new Rock of Love series, "This time as the bus pulls into each new city, the girls will engage in challenges specifically revolving around Bret’s life on the road. Whether it’s greeting aggressive groupies with a smile, enduring grueling schedules, dodging the advances of the warm-up band or even stepping in last-minute to fill in for delinquent roadies – these girls will be put to the test." “We are excited to hit the road for another season of Rock of Love,” explained Rock of Love Bus Executive Producers Mark Cronin and Cris Abrego.“Nobody knows their way around a tour bus like Bret Michaels, and we are confident that the audience will enjoy the ride.” Notably, the Rock of Love 2 runner-up, Oscar De La Hoya's niece, Daisy De La Hoya, hasn't gone unnoticed. She too will get another stab at love, as Daisy has been given her own reality show on VH1 - Daisy of Love. In fact, Daisy of Love casting is now underway.
