The wild, fun-loving reality TV stars who sought to win over Poison rock and roller Bret Michaels in VH1's Rock of Love and Rock of Love 2 have returned, and this time, manners and etiquette are the name of the game. And the prize? The Rock of Love Charm School valedictorian will take home $100,000.
The reality television gurus at VH1 who brought viewers Flavor of Love and I Love New York aired the premier episode of Rock of Love Charm School on Sunday, October 12, 2008.
This Charm School cast includes: Heather Chadwell, Megan Hauserman (with Lily the Chihuahua), Cindy "Rodeo" Steedle, Kristy Jo Muller, Courtney van Dusen, Dallas Harrison, Raven Williams, Lacey Conner, Destiney Moore, Inna Dmitrenko, Jessica Kinni, Angelique Morgan, Brandi Cunningham and Brandi Mahon.
Orientation to Rock of Love Charm School
On the premier episode of Rock of Love Charm School, the girls arrived at Charm School and they wasted no time doing what many VH1 reality stars do best - drinking, fighting, gossiping and crying. Lacey was at the center of a couple girl-fights, including one hair-pulling spat with Raven. Lacey and Rock of Love 2 rival Dallas also wasted no time getting into it, and this time, the argument ended abruptly with a bit of reality television gold when Dallas threw an apple at Lacey's head.
Courtney, eliminated from Rock of Love 2 on the first night after she got unreasonably drunk and slept through elimination, again hit the bottle, setting herself up for yet another first-night elimination from a VH1 reality show.
The Rock of Love Charm School girls were also presented with their Charm School pins, symbols of their Charm School "enrollment" that must be turned in at the time of their elimination.
The First Elimination of Rock of Love Charm School
Like most other reality television shows on VH1, each episode concludes with the elimination of one of the Charm School cast members.
Charm School Headmistress Sharon Osbourne holds the ultimate power to eliminate her charges from the running for the $100,000 prize, but she's also receiving some help from two Charm School Deans who will be Osbourne's "eyes and ears." The two deans are Riki Rachtman, host of VH1's rowdy Rock of Love Reunion shows, and Daniella Clarke, wife of Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and creator of Frankie B. Jeans.
At the conclusion of episode one of Rock of Love Charm School, two girls actually turn in their Charm School pins, signaling their departure from the show. Raven turned in her Charm School pin voluntarily, citing her "pedigree" as her primary reason for quitting the show.
But like in most reality shows, voluntary departures by cast members don't save another contestant from elimination. Charm School 2 is no different, so three girls were brought down to the chopping block: Lacey, for her feud with rival Dallas and poor "people skills"; Dallas for her anger management issues, highlighted when she threw an apple at Lacey's head during a spat; and Courtney, who started her stint on Charm School in the same way that she started her brief stay on Rock of Love 2 - drunk.
A compassionate yet stern Sharon Osbourne told a still-tipsy and teary-eyed Courtney that she was regrettably, selected as the first Charm School student to be eliminated, giving Lacey and Dallas a temporary reprieve and a chance to fight another day.
