If Beauty & the Geek is a 'social experiment', I say it's time to pass a law against social experiments. The show is boring, cliché and idiotic. It sucks. Yuck-a-doodle!
Season 2 of Beauty & The Geek premiered Wednesday, January 3. I watched because there was literally nothing else on TV. Given that wonderful endorsement, I have to tell you I still changed the channel to something else about 20 minutes into the ‘festivities’. I cant’ stand this show. Here are three reasons why I think the show sucks: 1) THE GEEKS SUCK:The Geeks were über-geeky. One dude is the lead singer for a Star Wars cover band. I’m not exactly sure what that is, but…it makes Weird Al seem cool. Alright? Another had the lovely moniker of ‘virgin’ posted next to his name. He should sue the producers. It’s not like he’s ever gonna get laid now. Some other guys were 'trekkies' and Harvard grads. They were your usual , geeky and ugly suspects. 2) THE BEAUTIES SUCK – and not in a good way:But if the boys were stereotypical, the girls were perhaps worse. Some were really stupid. I mean who can’t find a book using the Dewey Decimal system? It’s not that hard to use. Geez! Most libraries put guides up on the sides of the shelves to help you out too. (Uh-oh! Have I exposed myself as a library-going geek? Well, at least I'm not a virgin! Hehe!) Of course, when one of the ladies admits that the last book she read was a Sweet Valley High page-turner, well…I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. To round out this smattering of brilliant beauties, we have a Playboy model. (Don’t get so excited, dudes! She was only hot enough to make it to cyberspace, not the magazine.) Another girl was once a Hooter’s waitress and yet another is a U.F.C. ring girl. At least we know she can walk and carry a card at the same time. Look for her to make it deep into the competition. 3) ASHTON KUTCHER SUCKS:Ashton Kutcher is a “proud producer” of this series. It’s called the “ultimate social experiment.” Yeah! As if! What the hell does the handsome, athletic, Mr. Demi Moore know about social experimentation. He should stick to things he does well like “punk’ng people”. I mean if he showed up in a thong or something, I might decide to keep watching. Until that happens, I think I’ll stick to watching – GASP – sitcoms on ABC instead! So, what did you think about Beauty & the Geek? Are you a fan? Want to try and change my mind? I’d love to read your rebuttals in the discussion area. And…if you wanna take a crack at writing recaps of this series here at Suite101.com, I’ll be happy to let you...and you have my sympathies.
