Survivor - Episode 11, Recap

Ding-Dong! Wicked Jonathan is gone!

I have to have more respect for Parvati's strategy now, or maybe more of an understanding of the hatred towards Jonathan. I'm still not sure, but here's the recap.

Jonathan was upset about what happened during last Tribal Council. The rat doesn't like being called a 'rat' and a 'cancer', I suppose. Go figure.

The next day, Parvati sliced her thumb through the nail with a machete. Guess she missed the coconut. Ouch! Personally, I'm a klutz. I hacked through my thumb once chopping tomatoes and it was just a serrated kitchen knife. That hurt. I was five and remember it like yesterday.

I was a bit grossed out by the sight of Parvati's thumb too. I must say it got to me. However, her injury was quickly taken care of by the "Survivor" medical team and she seemed to be okay. The drama promised last week from an injury was only a sigh in the blip of the radar. It was really miniscule.

Of course, going down the pike, we're promised some serious drama. The finale is December 17th. That means next week will be "Survivor Week" here at the Reality TV site. Rumors abound on the 'net - will we have another double eviction? will there be a final three instead of a final two? We just can't wait to find out, but we'll have to.

But back to the episode at hand.

The Reward Challenge featured family members. Parvati's dad, Mike, joined her. Sundra's mom, Adam's dad, Jonathan's wife, Yul's bro, Ozzy's mom and Becky's sis were also in attendance. The Survivors had to toss water to their loved ones blind-folded. The loved ones then had to put the water into a bucket. Jonathan's wife wrung out her shirt and her hair to try and build up their water supply. She really wanted to be with her man. It was kind of touching. However, I never want to play cards with this couple. They're way too competitive.

Parvati, despite her sore thumb, won the challenge. Her dad chose Sundra's mom and Adam's dad to join them for a feast. The three family members would return to the tribe with the rest of the castaways for a bit. The castaways without family members were understandably hurt.

While Sundra, Parvati and Adam took off for the feast, Yul, Ozzy and Becky - just so you know, Parvati sent Jonathan to Exile Island. Shocker there, right? - talked about Adam and Parvati winning the recent challenges. Ozzy was like, 'why should I feed them and keep them strong enough to beat me?' I understand his strategy. I'm also upset by it too. I don't think it's fair, but I see why it would be beneficial to Aitu to do this.

The three Aitu mates hid some of the coconuts. However, after the reward, Parvati, Adam and Sundra returned with a ton of food for their tribe mates. Great strategy or just good-will towards your fellow man? Maybe Parvati and Adam are smarter than I've given them credit for. Anyway, Aitu was so touched by the gesture that they abandoned their plan for hiding food from Parvati and Adam.

Interesting.

Becky also mentioned to the camera that she thought it was much more peaceful without Jonathan. Sundra noted that too.

Ozzy handily won the Immunity Challenge. The guy is part fish and this was a swimming challenge. Man, did he just blow everyone away. It was awesome. Jonathan, upon returning back to camp, commented to the cameras that something was afoot. He asked Becky and Sundra if they were good. The girls were like, "sure". However, I wonder if they'll flip-flop. theyh don't like him. Yul, for his part, says he feels like the "Godfather". Yul and Becky strategized about getting rid of Adam or Jonathan. They also mentioned that Ozzy is way too strong so they're seriously considering booting him sooner rather than later if he can avoid winning all immunity challenges from here on in.

At Tribal, Jonathan mentions that Aitu sort of owes him. He feels he put them in the good position they're in. Yul says he feels equally responsible as he was the one who caught and produces the immunity necklace which caused Jonathan to flip back. In the end, Jonathan is voted out.

I really think that Yul and crew made a strategic error here. They should've voted Adam out while they had a chance. Then, they could've gotten rid of Jonathan and had Final Four sewn up, more or less. Adam could win the next few Immunity Challenges and what then? We'll find out next week. This season is all done next Sunday, the 17th.

As I said before, I can't wait! Things are starting to get good.

Dale Enomoto :
I knew that Ozzy never liked Jonathan but I was surprised that Yul would let himeself be coerced like that.

As soon as I saw the previews for the immunity challenge, I knew that Ozzy would rock it! And so did everyone else. Some people are saying that he's showing too much strength and will be a target the first time he doesn't have immunity. But I'm sure he already knows that. He's been a target for weeks. He certainly can't fake weakness now. His best chance to get to the final two is to keep winning immunity and hope that he will get the votes.

By the way, I've been thinking about how Jonathan has "betrayed everyone in the game". Actually, he hasn't. He never had an alliance with Ozzy in Aitu. Jonathan's alliance was with Yul, Becky, Candice and Sundra. Ozzy was the odd man out on that tribe until the mutiny.

Only one more episode before the finale! It looks like the next episode will feature a double elimination or there will be a final FIVE instead of a final four. I've even heard about the possiblity of 3 people in the final vote for the money, with 9 jury members.
