Plan Voodoo works its black magic on Cao Boi. Cristina also gets the boot in a anti-climactic double tribal ceremony!
After last week's tribal council, one would've thought that Cristina would've tried harder to make nicey-nicey with her tribe. I mean - Adam made it crystal clear that she was persona non grata with most of Raro. He called Cristina 'overbearing' and said she was difficult to deal with.
Cristina, just so you know. These are MAJOR HINTS! You're in trouble!
So, what does Cristina do when Raro returns back to camp? She starts arguing with Adam. I felt like I was watching an episode of "Bad Decision Theater", which is usually reserved for horror movies. You know the type of stupid moves that characters usually make - like heading for the wooden shed when an axe-wielding murderer is chasing you?
Um, Christina! I like you, but buh-bye! You're not long for the "Survivor: Cook Islands" world.
Over at Aitu, we see Ozzy catch a ton o' fish! Jonathan says he's impressed but mentions that Ozzy is pretty high up on his list of threats. Uh-oh! He also says he wouldn't want Ozzy around at the merge, but will use him for a bit longer for his fishing skills.
I just have to say - why is everyone targeting mi gente? Huh? The Hispanic tribe is near extermination. I'm just saying! Why???????????????????
Tree mail! The tribes get wind of a feast to come. However, Yul noticed that there's no mention of immunity. Hmmm? What's up?
Cao Boi and Jonathan then get into an argument. Cao Boi wants to bring the immunity idol with them to the challenge. Jonathan is like 'why, freaky-deaky dude? It ain't necessary.' Cao Boi responds, 'um, control freak, a**hole, this idol is a part of the tribe and well, I think it'd be rad if he came with.'
The rest of the tribe sort of rolls their eyes at crazy Cao Boi. Yul says Cao Boi is "unpredictable." Isn't that Survivor-speak for ... a loose cannon? And...doesn't a loose cannon get tossed off the island sooner rather than later.
You don't need a psychic to tell you that Cao Boi's days are numbered, do you?
The challenge is very physical with tribe members of one tribe having to 'kidnap' members from the other tribe. This was brutal, y'all! People were kicking, scraping, pulling hair. It was nutty! The reward is a feast with lamb shanks, bread and apple cider. Guess they're trying to save money this season!
Unfortunately, the bad news is this - both tribes have to lose a member. Yup! It's double tribal ceremony night. The tribe that gets to feast also gets to watch the other tribe's ceremony. They get food and info.
Aitu sat out Cao Boi. Prophetic, no?
In the end, Aitu won again. Back at camp, Cao Boi tries to chat with Yul. He thinks they're pretty tight. However, Yul just listens without promising too much. Cao Boi mentions that in his dream he was told that he had to defeat the immunity idol, or something. He thinks that Jonathan or Candice has it. Hehe! We know Yul has it!
Cao Boi concocts this plan called "PLAN VOODOO". He wants 3 people to vote for Jonathan and 3 to vote for Candice. The thought is that if they can snuff out the idol, then they can all play on fair footing from now on. Besides, Cao Boi figures if they take out a Caucasian, then they'll be in a good position as there are 5 Caucasians left. That means if the merge were to happen today, the white tribe would have the biggest voting block.
Interesting to see how that would play out, but I don't think race will be a contributing factor in merge votes? Our major alliances right now are across racial lines anyway.
It seems that Aitu might go along with voting Jonathan out. Many people don't trust him. Yul begins to wonder if he should suspect Jonathan too.
Jessica and Cao Boi go off to sun themselves. However, the rest of the tribe chats in the shelter. Cao Boi isn't worried, but Jessica is. At tribal council, Jonathan is outed as a leader, a label he tries to deflect. Cao Boi is sent home. Only Jessica and Cao Boi voted with "Plan Voodoo". Cao Boi said he was most vulnerable within the Asian community and seems upset that Yul and Becky betrayed his trust.
Now, Raro walks in. Aitu is given food, but Raro doesn't seem to care too much. I mean they're eating pretty well this season on both tribes. After a little bit, Jeff tells the castaways that Aitu can kidnap a member of Raro until the next immunity challenge. That person would get to eat some of the feast and be with them for a few days.
I thought they'd pick Cristina and save her just to cheese off the other team. However, they picked Nate. Maybe it was 'cuz he said that the lamb smelled good, y'all!
Anyway, Aitu is dismissed so Raro can vote. I doubt anyone would be surprised by the fact that Cristina was sent home. Sure, she tried to be nice and apologized to everyone, but it was too little, too late.
So, the big question is - will we see a merge next week? I, for one, can't wait to find out!
