For 8 seasons, The Biggest Loser has helped contestants lose. The show is now casting a new season of contestants to work with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.

NBC’s reality series The Biggest Loser offers players a chance to work with expert trainers in the battle to lose weight. The player who loses the largest percentage of their body weight at the end of the season walks away with a grand prize of $250,000. The Biggest Loser is looking for new pairs of family members to compete in Season 9. Both partners must have at least one hundred pounds to lose.

Contestants on The Biggest Loser have to deal with more than working out. Host Alison Sweeney regularly appears with challenges and temptations for the players to compete in. Prizes can range from cash rewards to bonus pounds during the weigh-in. Every week, they will also face the giant scale. Two players or teams fall below the yellow line, and the others vote one of them off the show.

Trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper work with the contestants to teach them about working out and eating right. Each person spends hours in the gym every day and is restricted to a healthful, low-calorie diet. However, one of the biggest things the trainers do is help the contestants discover why they became overweight in the first place.

Video Applications

An application can be downloaded from The Biggest Loser Casting Website. Potential cast members will need to mail the application, current photos and a ten-minute video to the casting team. The video should begin with the name(s), age(s), hometown(s), height(s) and weight(s) of both teammates. After that, it is important that the video shows the personalities of both contestants, as well as why making it to the Biggest Loser Ranch would be so important.

For five Saturdays throughout the summer, The Biggest Loser will be holding open casting calls throughout the country. The casting team will try to see the first 500 people in line, although they ask that hopefuls do not line up more than three hours in advance of the open casting calls. The Biggest Loser Season 9 is giving more families a chance to lose weight together. Hopeful contestants should begin making their video application as soon as possible.
