The Moment of Truth Contestants have answered hard questions all season long, but what happened to them after the show?
In ten episodes, The Moment of Truth became the most watched new show of the season. The breakout hit requires contestants to answer questions truthfully while hooked up to a polygraph machine. The more truthful answers, the more money they win. Questions become increasingly invasive and personal as the dollar-value climbs. The premise seems simple but the questions are hard and contestants are left with the decision to continue on or walk away from the show.
A few contestants managed to walk away with money in their pockets and some issues to work with. Those are the ones who fared well. Others managed to walk away with nothing all the while revealing their deepest darkest secrets. With the range of questions asked one must wonder how the contestants are faring after the show.
Update on Early Moment of Truth Contestants
Ray was one of the earlier contestants. The chef answered a lot of questions regarding resentment towards his family, specifically his mother who was sitting stage side. Ray's love for his wife was truly touching. This evening an update regarding Ray revealed some sad news. A month after the show Ray's wife, who was also stage side at the show, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The pair plans to renew their wedding vows soon.
Ellen, the contestant who revealed she invited a person she slept with to her wedding and that she believes she's a better mother to her children then her mother was to her, walked away with money. She revealed a lot, however she and her husband are doing well. Audiences will recall that Ellen's husband did a mental guest list review regarding the wedding question. They are planning a family vacation and Ellen's mother has since moved in with the couple and their children.
Michael, was a contestant who revealed a lot of hurtful things. Most notably he admitted to sleeping with a friend's wife and he admitted that his wife is not the most attractive person he has dated in his opinion. His wife seemed devastated. In his update Micheal claimed he and his wife were going through a period of healing and he planned to use some of his winnings to buy his wife breast implants. Perhaps that will make her the most attractive woman he has been with.
Lizette and Paul's Stories
Lizette was an interesting addition to the show. She answered a ton of questions regarding her relationship. The (aspiring) model lost her 100k haul when she lied about sleeping with someone to advance her career. She claimed she had not, but the lie detector told a different story. During the update Lizette apparently shared very little. She said her relationship was “fine” but the show alluded to a different story noting “but she's not hooked up to a lie detector”.
Paul Schon captivated audiences. The young playboy admitted to sleeping with over 100 woman, being unable to be faithful, being paid for sex and making a mold of his genitals. Schon left with money. When contacted Schon claimed he has slept with 135 woman and his spreadsheet is growing longer by the day. He is no longer dating Maria, the girl he brought with him to the show. Schon, who admitted to being a gambler, probably had a good time with his money after the break-up though.
This seasons contestants appear to be fairing well enough, considering the host of questions asked, but will next seasons contestants be that lucky?
