FOX reality game show sink to new lows as it destroys a marriage, embarasses a New York police officer and leaves a blonde walking away without a dime.

The Moment of Truth, a reality show on Fox, didn’t take long to let viewers see its full train wreck capabilities. The first couple of weeks were all fun and games. There were a couple of guys who admitted to being mild perverts (sexual thoughts in church, touching female clients too much ect.). It was funny. It got a bit more serious with a beauty queen who was asked about plastic surgery and possible eating disorders. Finally the show began to delve into the emotions of contestants when a man was questioned about his health, his self esteem and his resentment towards his mom. But the latest installment in the sadistic series really took the cake.

Moment of Truth

Lauren Cleri, 26, took the stage for The Moment of Truth. Her husband a New York police officer was sitting nearby along with her siblings and parents. It all started out with fun and games but as Cleri inched closer to the big money the big bad truth came out and it was far from pleasant.

Her ex-boyfriend came up to throw out some questions. Would she leave her husband for him? Is he the one that she thinks she should be married too? She was saved on one question because someone decided no one would benefit from the answer but the truth to the other was just as bad. Yes she did think she should have been married to him.

The questions got worse. Cleri admitted to sleeping with another man while married, taking off her wedding ring to appear single and to still being in love with her ex on her wedding day amongst other things.

Hubby appeared none to happy within the early questions but became what can only be described as ridiculously embarrassed and angry as the questions progressed.

Are You a Good Person?

In an ironic twist of fate Cleri lost all of her 200k winnings when she was asked whether or not she thought she was a good person. She said yes, the machine said “false” (shocking!).

Obviously Cleri didn’t believe herself to be a good person and after the series of questions she answered most of America surely didn’t think she was an angel either. Her answer dumbfounded most and her (soon to be ex?) husband sat stage side shaking his head “no”. Everyone knew that Cleri was about to lose it all, she even looked forlorn with her decision to say “yes”

Cleri walked away without a penny and what could only be described as a marriage that was all but over within a short hour of truth-telling.

Not long after the episode aired the New York Post caught up with Cleri to see how things were going. Cleri admitted that she and her husband had separated over what was revealed on the show. She claims she’d like to get back together and work things out but the husband doesn’t appear to be looking in that direction.

Shortly after the show aired bloggers were speculating that Cleri went on the show simply in an attempt to end her marriage, she denies the reports but most would have to ask themselves why someone like Cleri, who has committed some serious indiscretions, would even go on the show. It’s like seeing a train wreck before it happens and still boarding the subway.
