Steve Irwin’s death was devastating and tragic. However, his legacy lives on. Get the details about his final show and … learn more about Bindi Irwin’s new series here.

On September 4, 2006 the world was shocked when the news leaked that Steve Irwin, aka “The Crocodile Hunter”, passed away. He was stung by a poisonous sting ray while shooting footage for a documentary. That documentary entitled Ocean’s Deadliest will finally air on the Discovery Channel on January 21, 2007.

Footage relating to Steve’s accident and death will NOT be shown. That footage was given to his widow, Terri, and has since been destroyed.

Meanwhile, Bindi Irwin, Steve’s 8 year old daughter, who made quite a sensation with her poignant and beautiful speech at his funeral (click here to see it), is heading to the US where she’ll speak at the National Press Club in Washington, DC and appear on The Ellen Degeneres Show and The Late Show with David Letterman.

Bindi will also star in a 26-part series that will air later this year on the Discovery Kids Network. It’s entitled Bindi: The Jungle Girl.
