In response to Tribes divided by race posted by panndyra:There is so much to say.
It was sad but not surprising that there would be divisions within the tribes. As a member of Hiki (was it Sundra?) said, it is still going to be about human relationships.
There are so many influences which could bind or break alliances. The obvious ones are personality, gender, age and race. In addition to that, the Latinos and Asians may experience friction within their tribes because they are each comprised of different Latinos and Asians.
As a Japanese-American, I know that one of the first things that Puka found out about each other, after "what's your name?" and "where're you from?", was "what are you?"- of course, not in those exact words. But cultural clashes within the tribes depends on the strength of each person's cultural identity.
If the pattern that began last season holds true, the four tribes will be mixed up and divided into two before long. Once that happens, the first season of Survivor where the whites are the minority will be very interesting to watch.
